When it comes to Friday Brunch, the options are vast in Doha. Last Friday we decided to visit Sawa @Marsa Malaz Kempinski.
Sawa means ‘Together’ in Arabic, is a family friendly restaurant, dishing out a blend of European and Mediterranean flavors. Sawa is located on the lower ground floor of the Marsa Malaz Kempinski Hotel @The Pearl.
Sawa showcases modern decor, luxurious settings and offers magnificent poolside and beach scenes. The restaurant also showcases display kitchens, and you can watch the chefs cooking the meals.
The brunch display had various stations including Soup, Arabic and international starters, Sushi, Sashimi & Seafood; Live Pasta, Asian, Arabic cooking stations, Carvery with continental selection, and Indian food section and Desserts with Chocolate Fountains. The dishes were presented in style and the food at the buffet looked fresh and appetizing. It seems that great attention was taken to select the best quality of ingredients, and equally skilled chefs prepared the dishes to cater wide selection of diners.
The service at the restaurant did compliment high quality of cooking. The waiters were cheerful, bubbly and smiling throughout the service. We didn’t have to raise a finger to ask anything, the drinks were topped up and the table was cleared up as soon as it’s needed. The team was glad to accommodate our requests.
The live band added another dimension to the brunch experience. Even though we were seated very close to the set, but not at any time we felt it loud. The band and restaurant team made efforts to celebrate the special occasions with the guests, which was a nice touch.
The brunch at Sawa is pricier than other brunches in Doha but its worth each Riyal
paid. Being a popular brunch I recommend that table is booked in advance to avoid any disappointments.
